In a piece of news that might or might not be Digg-Worthy, the mobile version of the popular social networking website has gone through a reconditioning process and is said to be better than ever. Which means that you can digg and or bury articles from your handset more efficiently.

The refreshed Digg Website hasn't targeted for all the mobile diggers out there, but only for those who own handsets supporting a "full web browsing experience". You know, the likes of BlackBerry, Palm Treo or even Centro, Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch Diamond, Apple's new iPhone 3G, etc.

The new mobile Digg can be accessed at this address and according to the official Digg blog, it brings the following :

  • New viewing modes, for filtering stories to see only the ones from the last 24 hours, the last week, the last month or from the whole year
  • Improved visibility, allowing you to easily distinguish different media types
  • Users can now "favorite stories" after logging in
  • Pages load faster as a result of using less JavaScript
  • Navigating through stories is now more user friendly

In case you do not have a cool and Internet optimized handset, you have advised to access the old version of the mobile Digg Website. Launched in December 2004, Digg has become one of the most visited social networking sites of the past years, mainly thanks to the fact that its open community allows anyone to submit articles giving them a "chance to glory". The mobile version of Digg was made public about two years ago and it surely grew in popularity, as more and more users access the Web via their mobile devices.
